Oasis

Oasis

As I said in my previous post, I'd decided I needed an oasis for the demo game, so here are the components for it - water, palm trees and scrub.  Good enough I think, for the armies to be fighting over.  The trees are from Pegasus Models.  They seemed a bit crude in the box, but they assembled okay, and painted up easily.

Republican Romans - a thought

I just had a thought regarding the Republican Romans I'm painting.  It won't take a lot of effort to paint some Principes with pila to replace the early, hasta armed, ones I'm painting now, and to replace the Leves with Velites, thus giving me an army that'll be good for use up until the Marian Reforms at the end of the 2nd Century BC.  …

We're back

Hello everyone! Tim and I finished the DIY the week before last, and once the new carpet had been fitted, we 'reassembled' the room.  Everyone who's seen it likes it, so it seems to have been worthwhile.  Last week we went on holiday, to the South Downs.  Plenty of relaxation, good food, interesting places to visit.  …
