Today, I got my figures (Romans, Britons, more Romans and Sassanid Persians) back from Warlord Games. Many thanks to John Stallard's friend Karen for driving them over to me. Very little damage, easily sorted out this afternoon. So now I can plan some wargaming over Christmas, which will be nice.
Those of you who haven't followed my blogs for long probably won't know the history of this... Most of my Early Imperial Romans and Britons were given to me by Warlord Games, in exchange for me painting and photographing them. They wished to borrow them to illustrate their forthcoming ancients rules 'Hail Caesar'. Whilst delivering them, I also took along my Middle Imperial Romans and Sassanid Persians for a wargame at John's place. They took a fancy to those figures too, so I lent them too. That was in September. Since then, I've been painting various things, including starting this new project with Pyrrhus and Republican Rome. But ancient wargames have been few and far between, and those I have played have been with cardboard counters - nothing like so much fun. So I was really happy to get my babies back today!
Right, time for some telly!
