Happy Christmas to all my readers! If you click on this link, your browser should download a PDF. It's a Christmas card, designed by yours truly, for you to exercise your modelling skills on - print it out, crease where the red lines are, and then (preferably) use a scalpel and straight-edge to cut between the black 'crop marks'. Fold it up, add a dab of glue if you think it'll help it stay upright, and then display it with my blessing.
Update: It's Easter now - so I've removed the link to the Christmas card!
Yesterday I received, at last, a copy of the paperback edition of Simon James' "Excavations at Dura Europos 1928-1937, Final Report VII, The Arms and Armour and other Military Equipment." I haven't looked at it in detail yet - in fact I've wrapped it in Christmas paper and stuck it under the tree, to be opened and savoured tomorrow. It may not be to everyone's taste - a large part of it is simply an illustrated catalogue of the finds, but there's masses of very valuable and fascinating information contained therein. Published by Oxbow books at a shade under £40, it's not cheap, but if you're a sad git like me, it's worth every last penny!
