Today I have finished some more Romans, which can be seen in the Third Century Roman Photo Album. They almost all have spears, instead of pila, as discussed in a blog entry a few days ago. The spears were obtained from Warlord Games. Later, I shall probably mix the two units together, so as to have a mixture of pila and spears in each.
A couple of days ago, Steve at A&A Miniatures sent me a little parcel with a few Romans to finish off some incomplete units, some elephant crewmen, and some Sassanid standards. So I have finished off the first two units of Sassanid infantry as well. They can be seen in the Sassanid Photo Album.
Now I'm pondering what to paint next. We're going away for a few days next week, and though I can take some figures to clean up and assemble, but I can't take any painting. I shall probably clean up and assemble some Sassanid cavalry - possibly both the horse archers and Savaran (super-heavy cavalry).
