My new iMac

DSCF0514

My new iMac is in its new home, finally.  A traumatic visit to Ikea (aren't they always traumatic?) yesterday, resulted in the purchase of the desk, low unit and new drawer/filing unit seen here.  All seems to be working well, and the iMac is now low enough down that I don't get a crick in my neck looking at the top of the screen!

Tomorrow, hopefully, I'll be able to get on with working on AVGVSTVS to AVRELIAN again.  I did a load of proof-reading on the iPad on Friday (different format, and a long enough time since I last read the words that I was able to spot lots of errors), so tomorrow I'll get on and make those change.  I even found a phrase, whilst proof-reading, that refers to a mechanism I removed in the autumn of 2010!

The big screen makes life so much easier too - I can have Indesign open, with a couple of columns of palettes, and still have room to have a PDF of the previous draft open alongside!  And it's quick too - the old machine was taking several minutes (long enough to make a quick sandwich anyway!) to export the PDF, whilst this one does it, literally, in a few seconds.
