Here are a couple of points of Normans for Saga - eight warriors with crossbows and twelve peasant levies with bows. The figures are from Gripping Beast. They've painted up well - as usual with Gripping Beast, they look a lot better painted than the bare metal suggests. I went for a selection of colours which match vegetable dyes - mostly the 'cheaper', more common, varieties. Once I get on to knights, I shall probably use more of the 'richer' colours - reds, purples, oranges and strong blues.
They are painted in my usual way - white primer, light/bright base colours blocked in, then a coat of Army Painter 'Strong Tone' Quickshade painted on, finishing off with a squirt of Testors' Dull Cote.
