Having 'finished' (well, almost!) Dura Europos, I'm thinking about what next…
At the Phalanx show last weekend, I bought a rather spiffing laser-cut kit for a Roman watchtower from 4Ground. I don't like the roof, but will replace/cover that with something 'better' (i.e. with more texture and looking more 'Roman'). It's going to be a fairly flexible piece, when finished… It could be a tower on the 'Gask Ridge' frontier, or a signal tower connected with the pre-Hadrianic frontier based on the Stanegate, or any of several other places.
I could paint the ECW Scots Frame Gun I bought at Phalanx.
I could paint up the unit of Aventine Miniatures 'Magna Graecia' hoplites, which Richard Naylor kindly gave me for Christmas, for my 'Pyrrhus in Italy' project.
I could convert and paint up the 'officers'' elephant which Keith from Aventine gave me - I'm using the Aventine mahout, and one Sassanid guy in scale armour as a standard bearer, plus another couple of officers from A&A Miniatures.
I could paint up some Saxons for Saga.
I could start work on some siege rules.
I could work on some rules for my gladiators.
I could, er, paint some Wars of the Roses figures.
After that, though I'm sure there are more possibilities, I can't remember them now.
