Here is the last unit of Romans - well, probably. Okay, so it probably isn't - I'm already planning more... More archers, some lanciarii, dromedarii, and so on!
But it was the last one I'd planned to do when I planned to do more after finishing 1,000 WAB points of Romans! These models represent Cohors I Sebastenorum, a milliary (nominally 1,000 strong, more usually 800) cohort, formed in the 1st century and recruited mainly from Samaria. As you'll see, it's bigger, at 24 figures, than the other, 16 figure, cohorts. All part of making my Roman army 'regular'. There are a couple of photos in the Third Century Roman Photo Album.
The figures are by A&A Miniatures, painting is by the usual methods, and the transfers are from Little Big Men Studios.
