I have, finally, got around to painting the Macro and Cato models that Warlord Games made some time ago. Nice looking models, from most angles - the Macro model has a slightly odd left arm - which only shows from certain angles, because it's mostly hidden by his body and shield. I've got another pair of these, with the diorama base, which I shall make sometime.
In addition, I've painted up four of Warlord's new sentries. I decided that I wanted to use two of them as auxilia, so I cut off their pila, replaced them with wire spears, and gave them a couple of spare auxiliary shields. They can all be seen, along with a bigger view of Macro and Cato, in the First Century Romans gallery. In a couple of shots, I placed the figures on the top of a 'Grand Manner' watchtower, just to see what they'd be like 'in context'. Think they've worked out pretty well really.
