Okay, I have an elephantine problem...
I have painted up a Gripping Beast pachyderm, with one of my own, home-made, towers. It looks quite nice. There is one slight problem with it - the legs are rather far apart, when seen from the front or the back. Elephants tend to walk with their legs under their bodies, rather than out to the side. I have another one to paint, and another scratch-built tower to use. They're not ideal, but in some way (probably because of the home-made towers) they're very much mine.
I also bought, on a whim, the first of Aventine Miniatures' new elephants - the King's elephant. It's a lovely model, in all respects, and I am looking forward to painting it up (and I can get on with it now if I want to, as the transfers from Steve at LBMS have arrived). But now Aventine have released four more elephants - this time 'rank and file' elephants. They're lovely too... And I want at least a couple! I don't need them, but I like them. And I can't decide what to do. I want to use my modified Gripping Beast beasts. I also want to use my new king's elephant, and I want some of the new ones from Aventine (though I don't quite know which of the two tower variants I like best).
For the size of force I'm likely to end up with, I really shouldn't need more than three jumbos (and three will doubtless cause utter chaos in play!). So, what is a wargamer to do?
