Happy Easter everyone!
We have my wife's father and step-mother here for the weekend. Happily they're staying in an hotel, so we are getting some peace, but it is a bit busy, and so I'm not getting much painting done. We just have to have lunch with them today, and then we're back to our usual peaceful selves. And I haven't actually killed anyone - yet!
The unit of Sassanid Savaran heavy cavalry I'm working on are making slow progress. I've painted the horses - they're ready for a coat of Army Painter Quick Shade. The figures themselves just have the steel and bronze and the streamers/plumes on their helmets left to paint, and then a coat of Quick Shade - but I'll stick the pigures on the horses before doing the Quick Shade. The Little Big Men Studios standards (two of them for this unit) still need the back sides painting. I've already made and painted the movement trays, so they're not that far off finished really. I'm hoping to get the last of the painting done tonight, so I can get on with the 'Dip' tomorrow morning. So, hopefully, they'll be done and photographed at some time on Tuesday.
After that, I've just got a unit of Roman archers, and eight Roman cavalrymen (for a cohors equitata) left to do... Unless I decide to paint up some Roman Skirmishers as well.
