Well, I've had a busy day, so I haven't got much painting done - we're out tonight, and I've had to cook all sorts of stuff. Add to that having to get bloodstains out of one of the wife's skirts (don't ask - okay!) and you can see why I've been busy. The cohort of sagittarii and the three extra Roman cavalry are progressing, but slowly. Expect photos sometime next week, all being well. The cavalry ala will be 15 figures strong (which is almost full strength if we assume a 1:30 figure:man ratio), and will then fit on three of the sabot bases I got Litko to make me when I was doing the early imperial Romans. Going to look pretty impressive I think - though it'll need a big table to manoeuvre on!
Yesterday I received a couple of parcels. One was from A&A Miniatures, and had the postman grumbling about the weight - not surprising really, hilly armoured cataphract horses are heavy! More nice figures - I think cataphracts will be next after the archers. I bought some of the Palmyran ones, as they're more heavily armoured than the Sassanid ones - I don't know why, but they should look okay anyway.
I also received a sprue of Mantic Games new elves - Wayland Games were giving them away free, and I was curious. They're very 'different' - suitably alien to make nice elves I think. Very slim and small.
Yesterday's biggest surprise was a comment on my blog from Harry Sidebottom, thanking me for the nice things I said about his books. Top bloke - so get your wallets out and treat yourselves to a good read!
