Keith from Aventine Miniatures has just sent me a small sample of the Roman Velites they've just released. They're very nice figures. Putting them up against a ruler, they seem to be 'true 28s' - i.e. they're 28 mm from sole of foot to eyeball. They're well-detailed, attractive, figures in suitably active poses. They'll look really good skirmishing in front of a legion.
Does that mean I'm going to do Republican Romans next? Well, I'm still undecided about what next! The Perrys' new Wars of the Roses plastics (and those gorgeous artillery pieces!) are very tempting too.
I am actually feeling a bit low today. Not knowing what I'm doing next with my hobby combined with trying to deal with a revolting teenager and a nine-year-old who won't stop talking is getting me down a bit.
Perhaps I'll go and stick these three figures on bases, prime them and see how I feel then.
